The beautiful dials and intricate patterning can be admired clearly, thanks to dual curved sapphire glass with super anti-reflective coating.
CREATING THE UNIQUE METEORITE DIAL
More than a watch, it is a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and the profound beauty of the universe.
The dial is crafted from Muonionalusta meteorite, which is believed to have fallen to Earth nearly one million years ago. Composed primarily of iron and nickel, the material is admired for the Widmanstätten pattern, a crystalline lattice that forms over millions of years as the meteorite cools in space, an effect impossible to recreate on Earth. Long treasured by collectors and featured only in the world’s most exclusive watches, meteorite is one of horology’s most coveted materials. Its debut in the Orient Star portfolio marks a truly special moment for the brand.
Each meteorite dial undergoes a silver vapour deposition process to enhance visibility of its unique geometric structure. Protected by dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides (SAR coating) delivering 99% light transmittance, the intricate pattern is showcased with remarkable clarity.
